Welcome to Christopher Hatton Primary School website,
giving you a flavour of our school and how we put our values into action.

Our vision is to inspire all children with a love of learning. We want our
children to become outstanding future citizens who are resourceful,
resilient and responsible. These '3Rs' underpin our teaching, giving our
pupils the confidence, skills and attitudes to be successful lifelong achievers.

Christopher Hatton School Development Plans 2013/14

We constantly strive to improve at Christopher Hatton.

This year our Key areas for development include a focus on growth mind sets: ensuring all of our children have a love of challenge, understand that effort is the route to mastery and have the skills and attitudes to make the most of their learning. Have a look at the displays to find out what the children think about learning or read our parent leaflet.

We are also reviewing our teaching of maths and have introduced Numicon resources so that our children can continue to excel. You can support your child by attending our maths workshops, trying our problem of the month, practicing number skills and encouraging your children to work towards their MACs.

PE is another area of focus this year. We have employed a specialist sports coach to help the staff and pupils improve their skills. We have lots of active after school clubs and on Thursdays we also have a pre-school fitness morning and lunchtime dance club. We have already been competing in team competitions and hope to increase the trophy haul this year!

We want all of our children to achieve the highest standards so provide excellent teaching and wider opportunities to ensure the progress and attainment and enthusiasm of every child is high. You can see how we spend our Pupil Premium and the impact it is having in the policies section

We look forward to working with our parents to make 2013/14 another successful and enjoyable year.

At Christopher Hatton we value your views. Parents and carers can give their views of our school at any time of the school year using an online questionnaire called Parent View.

Your views are important in helping inspectors make a decision about our school, and to help us know what is going well and what could be improved.

If you do not have a computer or an email address or if you would like help to use Parent View, please come into school and ask at reception.
