Applying for Free School Meals
Are you receiving any of the following benefits?
- Income Support
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance (Income-Related)
- National Asylum Seekers Support (NASS)
- Guarantee Element of the State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit Only, but not Working Tax Credit ( and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190)
If you receive Working Tax Credit and NO other qualifying benefit other than Child Tax Credit you will NOT be eligible for Free School Meals. The Camden Benefits Service would like all parents to complete an online form, please go to http://www.camden.gov.uk/fsm
You will only receive Free School Meals once we have received confirmation from the Camden Benefits Service that you are eligible. They must have an application for FSM in order to carry out any checks. They cannot authorise the backdating of FSM to a date prior to them receiving the form.You only have to apply for Free School Meals once for your child’s time at the school. You must contact the Camden Benefits Service if your circumstances change.
If you are unable to gain internet access, please ask the school office for a paper copy. Please note that this method will take longer to process and you may have to pay for your child’s meals in the meantime.If you have previously applied for FSM but did not qualify, and your circumstances have changed, meaning you might now be eligible, you DO NOT need to complete a new form. Please contact the Camden Benefits Service and they will do another check and let you know if there has been a change.
