Pupil Attainment at Christopher Hatton School
The attainment of the children in KS1 and KS2 in 2023 is based on national tests (SATs) and teacher assessment. All national tests were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak in 2020 and 2021. The teachers used a range of evidence. The judgements were discussed with and moderated by senior leaders to ensure that they were a fair reflection of each child’s attainment.
The government will not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year. They have archived data from the 2018 to 2019 academic year because they recognise that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance.

Progress in 2020 and 2021
Unlike in previous years the school is not able to compare the pupil’s progress to national progress of those with similar starting points this academic year as there is no national data. This cohort of children did not complete externally validated SATs at the end of each key stage in the same way as usual, so calculations cannot be completed with a comparison. However based on in school tracking data it is evident that high levels of progress have been maintained.
