The aim of this handbook is to give you a guide to Christopher Hatton School. We hope that it provides you with all the information you need to help you settle in as a parent or carer at Christopher Hatton. Please let us know if you have other questions.
We aim to create a welcoming atmosphere and actively seek to involve families in the life of our school the headteacher or deputy is in the playground or at the entrance at the start of the day. Many queries and concerns can be dealt with at this time. It is also possible to make an appointment through the school office.
Teachers are also often available for a ‘quick word’ at the end of the day. However, if you need to talk to a teacher in more depth, please make an appointment.
During the Autumn term parents are invited to a ‘meet the teacher’ session. This is a chance to find out about what your child will be learning, homework arrangements etc.
In the spring term parents are invited to meet with their child's class teacher and discuss progress. In the summer term parents receive a written report and have a final meeting. You will be given notice in advance and it is very important that you attend these meetings.
Parents are, welcome to make an appointment to see the teacher at any time. If you have any concerns or questions don’t wait, we are committed to working closely with parents and will always find the time to talk. Teachers may also arrange to meet parents if an issue arises.
